The dash switch itself can be bad. Very common. Easy to change. You can check it by swapping with a friend who has the same switch. Any Sierra, Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL, Avalanche will work as long as it is the same switch. Some are 3 button and others have 4.
