2001 GMC Jimmy dieing when turning a corner

Asked by Heather Nov 24, 2016 at 12:40 PM about the 2001 GMC Jimmy 4 Dr Diamond Edition 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Got in my truck this morning and it was dead, tried to remove my key and could not get it out or move the gear shift.  Jump started it and it started right up fine.  Drove it to work 26 miles and as I turned on to the road I work on, it died.  Put it in neutral and started it back up, turned into work it died again, started it again.  Pulled into a parking space and it died again.  Put it in park and tried to pull my key.  I get nothing again and can not remove my key now.  What could be causing this issue?

1 Answer

It could be the alternator, please go with somebody who has the special tool in order to check the alternator and battery.
