Does it run differently than it did. I assume all the obvious stuff has been checked you might want to check thefuel pressure it may be too high, also check the catalytic converter

If a dealership and mechanics couldn't figure this out, how can people on the internet who can't even see the car help? My question is, how many miles on the engine? If it is high, then you may need to switch to a different type of motor oil. A high mileage engine may also lose compression, indicating worn rings, valves, or head gasket. There are tons of things that can rob an engine of MPGs, anything from dragging brakes, worn TC clutch, etc. So by all means, reply back with how many miles you have on car, maybe we can make suggestions on how to proceed from there.

Mike and Ken/ Thank you for your responses. The reason that I am asking advice from the Internet is because I have no other options. Ken-in answer to your question- The dealership and the mechanic know that there are issues- They just cannot figure out what those issues are. I am asking the public to help identify those issues please. Thanks so much, Rachel I know nothing about cars. I can ask my mechanic to check or if whatever you say can be checked- But you guys are speaking a totally foreign language. There are 106783 miles on the car. As I mentioned, the problem started suddenly-it was not a gradual decline. The dealership had the car for two days-and supposedly did a thorough check of everything. They let me use a rental. The said entire fuel sending unit was working perfectly fine- They took it out of the harness. (?) They did change brake pads. There are no lights on the dash lot up- There were no codes showing up when scanned. Motor oil was switched. Fuel grade was not. I do notice a difference when I start my car to go at a red light- The engine seems to “rev up too loudly.” Like I am about to start a road race. Mechanic drove car and did not feel any issues. But he knows issues persist- He just cannot figure out.

Neither can dealership. I am asking public for help identifying these issues please. I also got a new battery.

Mike How would I check the fuel pressure Or the catalytic converter? Thank you for your help. This tank is the worst one yet Almost on line past empty- I did not even get 200 Miles. I put 17.5 gallons of gas in tank. Right before “something happened “- I drove car to Tennessee 575 miles- And I still had @1/4 tank of gas left. This car used to get fantastic gas mileage. It was nothing gradual. It was sudden.

For the fuel pressure, you need a gauge some parts srores lend them out. You just screw it on to a test port on the fuel rail, you can google the pressure spec. For the converter you need to read the O2 sensors to see if it works. You can also do a back pressure test bit it's complicated. I'll explain if you ask I hope this help. Take care.

Thanks, Mike- I will mention to Eddie the mechanic He is open to any ideas He just can’t figure it out
