I wanted to know the difficulty rating of removing and replacing a complete front pass door
assembly (no transfering of any parts, except door panel. I am an intemediate to advanced
DIY'er. Would i need any special tools for this project? thanks in advance
The hardest part, of course, is undoing the hinges, pins- take a close look at these and get your head wrapped around it- then, the door may not align perfectly- this can be adjusted by putting a floor jack under the door edge (with padding) and slowly and CAREFULLY lifting the door a LITTLE at a time- man, I hate giving advice like this because it is SO easy to mess it up- think about this, and think carefully if it isn't better to get a PRO to do this operation- the labor cost should be minimal-
Thanks for the tips, was a piece of cake, did it in about an hour (didnt have to transfer much over). The tip with the floor jack, really helped during removal and replacement from the body.Happy Holidays!
