Instrument cluster problems on 2007 clear up when using the air conditioning

Asked by cedwina Apr 17, 2014 at 01:17 AM about the 2007 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Been having problems for several months with the ABS, Brake warning lights coming on at the same time the speedometer quits working and the Tachometer goes crazy.  This is very intermittent and didn't seem related to any particular  action.  I have started using my air conditioning, and the instrument cluster problems have totally ceased (while AC is on). What in the world could be causing this.Thanks.

that may be needing a computer upgrade, check with Toyota for a bulletin on this. I do know with air on the rpm bumps up from pcm { computer} signal, and related flywheel speed sensor. but this condition rules out the sensor

I been having the same problem with my 2007 Camry. Right now the A/C is not longer working. I have a friend who told me the cluster is damaged and the dealer price is $840. Another mechanic said that beside the cluster the the Air Compressor is broken... I need help!

From Redondo Beach Ca. Next door to Toyota's HEADQUARTERS. I called them with the same problem. They said, we heard about but our code don't show anything. Were willing to start changing parts if I'm willing to pay for it until we might get lucky. OH, an don't bring your car to us here at 190th street. Were not interested in finding out what might be the same problem eighty other people have been calling about. We NEED MORE CALLS !!! So, GUYS, call them !

It is the ABS control module. The ABS control module is a little black box located under the hood next to the coolant fluid intake. Fixing this is as easy as taking out the old module and putting in the new module. You don't need to hire a mechanic to do it. However, the new module is expensive. My advice is to go to your local junk yard and buy one used. This can save you hundreds of dollars. Hope this helps.
