cars generally come with a 30,000 mile and a 60,000 maintenance 100,000...etc, if you've been an obedient owner have judiciously gone in for these maintenance alerts...your onboard computer knows...you've been ducking the scheduled maintenance~

Most of the time, when you keep to the highly recommended manufacturer's maintenance schedule, the service department is suppose to (and usually required to) reset the vehicles computer mod (or ECM, aka... the BRAIN.) Then your "MAINT REQD" light would not be on. Although, if you have been compliant with a routine schedule, there may be another issue arising. Your car is probably needing a "finer" tune up then just an oil change. Regular oil changes and keeping to your maintenance schedule is far more cost effective though.

It MEANS that it is well past time to log off of CarGurus.com, contact a local service shop and schedule an appointment for your car to be looked at (Do not pass Go, or collect $200, etc). Don't forget to turn your PC off...we'll keep a light on fer ya, though
