did the 1990 c/k1500 454 ss come from the factory with a 4 barrel carb or was it fuel injected  and was it a three speed tranny or was the late 1990,s a four speed

it was fuel injected all gm trucks came with fuel injection after 1986 and your tranny is probably a 700r4 so its a 3 speed with overdrive

the 454 SS was produced from 1990-93 1990 was a thm400 (turbo hydra-matic) 3spd auto 1991-93 it recieved the 4L80E 4spd auto and all the trucks were fuel injected

The 89 Chevy may need a new fuel pump/fuel filter. It could be the spyder injector my 98 has the same issue about a month ago
