1994 Chevy 1500 starter wiring -please help! its all different!!

Asked by Guru5KPZH Jan 26, 2018 at 01:00 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey people hopefully someone can help me out
here! long story short I'm trying to get this 94 1500
running again for my mother.. i bench tested the
starter and its good, battery has enough juice, but
after turning key all the way, no click or crank or
anything.. my late step-father did some of his own
work to his pickup including changing the colors of
the original wires when he replace some of them!!!
so I'm not positive what should go to what now.
.there are a couple wires they come out of the
firewall on the driver side that are only original for a
few inches I have the purple wire going to the S
terminal on my solenoid but thats about it. there is
no pink wire and I believe the ignition switch itself
it has been changed out with another model.. small
black and brown wires go where? my reverse lights
dont work either.. is this an indicator of a neutral
safety switch issue?  I believe its on the steering
column? ive included pictures of my problems! any
help would be appreciated! thanks folks
