Will a 97 4l60e work in a 95 Chevy Silverado k1500

My original transmission is overheating and has lost
reverse and I have found a 97 transmission for
cheap will it work

yes it will i got a 1995 chevy silverado z71 and i put a 2002 4l60e in it and it runs better everything matches up and lines up how it should but anything from 1995-2002 is a completely bolt up the only thing you will need to buy is the gasket if in 4wd

No it will not work the internals are different along with the electrical part of it. It will work but only for a short time and not properly. I bought a truck with the wrong year in it and it lasted about 3 months if that. Do your research on the different model year transmission
