no brakes !

Asked by Starrcats23 Nov 22, 2015 at 02:25 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne Extended Cab LB RWD

Question type: General

I have a 1996 Chevy 1500 1/2 ton 2wd with 4.3 v6, was driving and went to
stop and the pedal went to the floor. Checked fluid it was full, with the truck not
running pumped the brakes and it firmed up but as soon as I started the truck
the pedal goes ALL the way to the floor. Replaced the master cylinder and the
rear wheel cylinders/brake pads. Gravity bleed each line in order, then bled the
to make sure there was no air ! But still have the same problem ! Checked the
brake booster, pumped up brakes not running held then started and pedal goes
ALL the way to the floor ! Wondering if I have to use ABS scan tool or
something else to correct this problem ?  Need Help Please !  Starr...

I suspect you still have air in the system. Did you check the front calipers for leaks?

if you applied the brakes when /after you started it ????re check the power booster with a vacuun hand pump to see if it will hold a vacuum.. re bleed /run new fluid thru all starting with the right rear tire..
