Is the Middle light that sits above the spare tyre a brake light only

COPS PULLED ME OVER AT GUN POINT FORCEFULLY REMOVED FROM VEHICLE, " WE CAN DO THIS THE EASY WAY OR THE HARD WAY"
Cut a long story short, they told me that my brake lights were continually on.
It is a 2006 special edition. Wrangler, I have had from new and it has always worked the same as the other back lights.

Yes the middle light is only a brake light. If your brake lights are continuously on then you may need to replace the brake light switch.

They just noticed it on and then thought you were a threat after the stop, no worries unless you act strange or cannot control your motor skills or talk or act disrespectfull.
