Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 97 Silverado 1500 with a 5 speed that went out, but I have a good 5
speed out of a 94 Silverado 3500 and i was just wondering if it would work?

Going off memory here, but both trucks are probably using a 4L60E tranny, if so you should be able to swap them with little fuss. But check that BOTH are using the "E" designation, as that indicates the tranny is electronically shifted. If the older truck is not using the "E" tranny designation, and the newer truck is, then the swap won't work.
