1997 chevy c1500 trans problem 4l60e

hey guys i could really use some help here i have a 1997 chevy c1500 with a
4l60e trans it wont start out in first and wont go into overdrive if you put it in
overdrive it acts like its starting out in a high gear but if you put it in 1st it acts
like it is starting out in second if you shift from 1 to 2 it dosent change then
you can shift from 2 to 3 and it shifts but once you get goin so fast it neutrals
out anybody know the cause i have been working on this thing for a week
straight
