Truck slips in 3rd n 4th

Asked by GuruH6R5V Aug 06, 2019 at 01:56 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 WT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck ran n drove Great, no issues, parked for 4hrs,
got in started it, noticed my shift indicator needle
(orange) was gone, huh.  (4L60E) 4.3 2wd
So put in 4th/od, n trans was slipping, tried 3rd,
slipping, but does move, n i have 1,2, R. Check
engine light came on almost immediately after i
put it in gear! Assuming its a code P1870, which
leads to TCC clutch control solenoid, and TCC
Valve. I noticed a company Teckpak sells a tcc
valve upgraded version ($14.99 that claims to
solve the P1870 code...??
Should i also replace the converter lockup
solenoid as well? i assume yes, since its gonna b
apart, so do it now rite??

98 Chevy C1500 2wd, 4L60e. Think i need TCC VALVE (upgraded) and a Torque Converter control lockup solenoid
