my 1995 Chevrolet 2500 fuel pump stays running with the key off just put new intake gasket on new sensor for oil and heat

Why does the fuel pump stay running with key off I disconnect
the oil
sending unit to kill pump with key off other then that the pump
stays
running

You may be still getting power threw the ignition switch. Investigate the ignition switch down on the steering column.
