When you remove the belt from the compressor pulley, you should be able to spin the pulley. You should also be able to turn the compressor...by turning the center/end. If either does not turn you have a problem. If the compressor does not turn, it is seized If the pulley does not turn the clutch is seized You can replace the clutch without pulling the compressor.
