Your question is a little unclear - you mean your wheel couldn't steer all the way to the left or right, as opposed to the wheel not being able to rotate, correct? If you have a steering issue, there can be a number of causes, from failure of the rack and pinion, a linkage, tie rod, even a snagged rubber brake line. It needs to be inspected asap by a professional. If you don't plan to do the work yourself then get it up to an alignment shop or mechanics, as this can be a major safety issue do not drive it except to get it there or plan on towing it.
