my horn will not activate by using the steering wheel, but it will work when I push the panic button. what should I check first?

Clockspring or contacts in steering wheel. Clockspring is the device that connects any electrical controls on steering wheel to car. Even if it only the horn, or audio, CC, whatever is on wheel. Problem is it's not really a DIY because of air bags.... messing around inside steering wheel can be dangerous
