Do you have to drop the engine in order to replace a fuel pump on a 2000 Lesabre Buick?

No, You should be able to replace the fuel pump through the trunk. Beneath the carpet in the trunk should be an access panel. Once you remove that panel, all the electrical connections and fuel lines can be disconnected. Remember to disconnect the negative battery cable prior to service, and to take necessary precautions in regards to fuel spillage that may occur. I hope this helps.
