Rear window stop working

Asked by GuruY5FRW Feb 24, 2018 at 12:56 AM about the 1999 Buick LeSabre Limited Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Buick lasabre. At first the switch for
the rear window in the main control drive seat stop
working but the other three window switches
worked. The switch for the rear window still worked
but a couple days later both switches stop working.
Everything I use the switch for the rear window it
dims all the light. But the other 3 window works fine

It sounds as if the window motor itself is jammed, if the lights are dimming that signifies the switch is doing its job. I'd remove the rear door panel and examine the window motor and crank system. If rusted, your best bet it to remove the crank and motor to clean them of rust. I personally used a garage door lubricant for my window crank, but any kind of grease should do the trick after cleaning. Maybe check out the window seals as well, if it is rust.
