Pop noise and acts like it is going to turn off

I have a 1998 buick lesbre it is acting as if it is
going to turn off but doesnt then it will have a
popping noise then drives smooth.should i worry?

From your description it sounds like you have a rough idle, then backfires and runs smoother - yes? Could be bad timing, a tune-up can help (plugs & wires), check coils for corrosion, cracked boots too.
