What happens when you forget to put the metal clip inside transmission when you do the filter & oil change

of trans. when taking off pan for oil/filter

It helps the filter hang there, when the pans on the filter cant go anywhere. I do not remove parts from transmissions unless the builder walks over and says , take that out and throw it away. Having the filter hang right is good for the o-ring. Having all the parts there stops bad reviews from another shop. Unless it makes some kind of sense to remove them.
