You would have to try to locate the fuel pump/gauge assembly unit under vehicle and on top of gas tank.If you can see it,you would have to measure the distance, with a tape measure, from one side of the car and then from that point ,to the rear of the vehicle.Or just take a guess, drill a small shallow little hole where u think it is.Then shine a light down from there and see how close you are.Make ajustments. You might have obstacles in your way,be extremely careful not to drill into tank ,wiring, hoses, lines etc.NOTE: SPARKS AND GASOLINE EXTREMELY DEADLY ! IT'S CRAZY BUT I'VE DONE A FEW TIMES. BETTER OFF DROPPING THE TANK.

You could install an electric pump inline instead.Need to know how much fuel pressure is required for that yr model. Good Luck.

for the year 2001 there is already a port in the trunk that you can open to get to the top of the fuel tank/fuel pump. Yours should be similar.
