2006 Buick LaCrosse cx cruise control stopped working

Cruise control stopped working randomly..
Power light comes on when the cruise
button is pressed but I cannot set a speed
or resume. Light doesn't come on dash
just on the steering wheel. Fuses are fine,
also checked the fuse for internal control
lighting or whatever the fuse was labeled
because before the cruise stopped
working and continued to happen after,
random cabin lights went out. The PRNDL
stopped lighting up, some of the lock
buttons and window buttons stopped
lighting up, and various lights on the
wheels stopped lighting up. No fuses seem
to be blown what could cause this

Most cruise controls rely on engine vacuum to work. If you have lost vacuum to the unit, it will not set. This can be a bad vacuum ling going to the control unit or there is a dump switch at the brake pedal. it could be bad, or out of adjustment.

if it's not fully electronic, then it's vacuum based, which means you have to check all your vacuum hoses under the hood, and maybe even the cruise control pump is bad...
