back-up lights

Asked by fzuspan Oct 17, 2014 at 05:34 PM about the 2001 Buick Century Custom Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have ZERO back-up lights, please note that all my taillights function properly. I've
checked bulbs, fuses and general wiring, I'm told the problem is in a switch in the steering
column or transmission, what do I look for? Should I go to dealer?

Good God no dont go to the dealer for this. Check and see if you have current at the bulb socket with a test light. Remember you have to have the car on (not running) and in reverse. If you do have current then it could be the sockets themselves. They do get old brittle and burnt.
