Question type: Maintenance & Repair

died during drive, would not start. Got P0522. Replaced oil pressure sensor. Still get P0522, won't start but sounds like it wants to.

The issue could be an electrical one on the oil pressure switch circuit or it could have a bad oil pump or restricted oil passage causing low oil pressure. If you heard and noise when it shut down I'd be more suspect of the oil pump itself

THANK YOU...... so to make sure I'm understanding, if it is an electrical problem on the oil pressure switch circuit, would that prevent it from starting? Also, there is only one wire coming from the switch but 3 pins on the female connector. I wasn't driving when it shut down but I will ask her that question. We live on a dirt road with some really large water "puddles" so I checked the rear plugs to make sure there was no water in the plug "holes". Will no/low oil pressure prevent starting? Should I have disconnected the battery to clear any codes after the new switch and before the trouble code test?

Sprayed starting fluid into the air intake and tried to start. BIG FLAME came out after just a few revolutions of the engine. TIMING CHAIN???????? Also, with all plugs removed, got what looks like water spray on my hand from all cylinders by turning engine over. Could these 2 symptoms be related? Been working on this for 2 weeks now... could really use some help. THANKS

JUST THOUGHT OF THIS...... I have a code reader. If the timing chain has "jumped a tooth" shouldn't I get a code?
