It is for Exhaust Gas Recirculation, (EGR valve) which is an emissions part that recirculates harmful exhaust gasses back threw the intake manifold to be re-burnt to help the engine to put out cleaner air, or exhaust. (emissions)

emissions u can drive the car with that code on will not hurt vehicle
