OVERHEATED

Hi ,
   My 06 Town and country overheated within the first 5 miles when I drove on the
FWY at 70 mph. I had to slow down or pull over.
   After the temperature reduced to normal temp , I can drive a hundred miles at 70
mph no problem.
   This happened twice recently. My Van has 75k miles. I was just wondering if there
is some thing wrong with thermostat , cooling pump, or the radiator. Thank you for
the help.

WATER PUMP, RADIATOR, FAN, THERMOSTAT ALL OF THESE COULD BE THE PROBLEM, FIRST START AT THERMOSTAT AND SEE IF FANS DO COME ON

Schalk is right could be any one of the things you mentioned and what he mentioned just have to get it to a good mechanic that can diagnose the problem and give you a fair price to fix it.

2007 T&c 3.8 cooling fans don't come on so AC is non existent in stop and Go, but on freeway, works fine as air is forced past condensor coils. Still, in mild weather, engine temp needle stays pegged at normal without fans. So similar to all above, inop fans are the problem.

    When I looked under the hood the coolant was empty I put more in when I got home but it overheated again, there was coolant still the next time.
