Fuse keeps blowing.

Asked by Sally Oct 14, 2015 at 07:26 PM about the 2004 Chrysler Town & Country LX LWB FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the fuse last week, and it
lasted exactly one week and did it
again. Now I've had to replace it twice
in the past hour. The van shuts off,
lose steering, brakes, everything.

what fuse is it? You have a short in that system. Fuses blow because something in that circuit is pulling more amps than the fuse is rated for. The fuses location in the fuse box will tell you what system that fuse is in. Or it is in your owners manual

I'm not sure which fuse it is as it's my daughter's van, but thanks for the helpful tips.

On the inside of the fusebox cover there should be a map which shows the location of the fuse you have replaced and its number. You can look that fuse number or location up in the owners manual . I'm sure you can find an owners manual online.

Hey Guys My Horn one night came on in the middle of the night, so i ran out and disconnected the battery. I have changed the clock and replaced the horns because of rust. That did not fix the problem. I changed the relay and that has also not worked. I have ground on the clock and horn. Is my only option to trace the harness at this point?
