Need to convert from 7 passengers to 8

Asked by David Apr 25, 2012 at 10:31 PM about the 2003 Chrysler Town & Country Limited LWB FWD

Question type: Car Customization

We are having our 6th child and we own a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country that is a 7 passenger mini-van.  Is there a way I can buy an aftermarket bench seat for the middle row that seats 3 like the back row seats 3?  It is paid for and runs great so I don't want to buy something else if at all possible.  Please let me know.

Yes I bought one from a car repair place shops ( they found at a salvage yard). Fits perfectly as I was able to switch my original seats around- per my manuals instructions. My captains chairs have been out now for about 6 years.

Putting in two long bench seats I guess should work, since the the 3 person bench will lock into the middle or back set of seat locks on the floor. But how do you get into the back row of seating when a 3 person bench is in its middle position? There's no room to walk around a 3 person bench in the middle to get to the back seat.

Don't know how easy it would be for adults but our 6 kids up to 11 years old have had no problem maneuvering around 3 seat benches in middle and back rows of our 2006 T&C. There was a little leg room to get through.
