you need a multi tester to see what's getting juice and what's not , what if you move the bulb around ? the sockets may be worn
tried it. tested all positions in wiring harness plug and all bulbs individually on both sides & center. power on everything except brake lights. i think it is either a knicked wire, a loose ground, or some fusible link or other type of dealer service interruptor in the line from the brake switch to the plug for tail light cases. if thats not it i guess the damn van is haunted, cuz i got no other ideas. am trying to find vehicle specific wiring schematics, if anybody knows where i can download them.

the brake lights may go through the directional switch after the brake light peddle switch , if you apply the brakes and turn on a directional and that one replaces the brake light on that side then it is shared , ya know ?
if it was the turn signal switch it would not affect the high center (lift gate) light.
found a fusible link in one of the wires going into brake switch plug. i dont know what it could b hooked to, but it appears to b blown. hopefully this is it

the brake light is one thing that is hot at all times , HAT, along with horn , headlights , flashers , memories and god knows what . The tester makes it easier to check the fuses and such , it blew out for a reason , better look into that
