I changed the motor of a 93 suburban to a 93
Buick Roadmaster 5.7 I can't get the service
engine Light to go off I've gone through all the
procedures and I keep getting code numbers 42
and 43 what do I do to get the light to go off so I
could get smog check and my tags

the 42 means a bad ignition control module or bad connections. since you did a swap out, I would check and clean the connections first. the 43 is a knock sensor or a problem in the computer with the MEM cal. that is the calibration between the engine management systems and the computer. you may have to change your mem cal or your whole computer. The same computer is used in lots of gm vehicles, but the PROM (programmable read only Memory ) or your MEM-cal, which ever you have are meant for each specific vehicle.
