Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2006 Chrysler Sebring convertible 2.7L with 65,000 miles 4spd auto -- drove through heavy rain and deep puddles last week, now: Battery indicator light sometimes comes on; transmission clunks when car stops; speedometer shows 15 MPH when stopped; convertible top retract button no longer works. All happened after splashing through puddles. Engine still runs fine. Do these symptoms make sense to anyone? Suggestions?

There are dielectric sprays like "Termin8tor" that will displace water on electrical connections and seal them, spray them down good or they'll get worse especially if salt gets in there too. For the clunking from tranny, check water/debris didn't get into bell housing area/flywheel, may need cleaning out. You can also get alternator and battery tested, maybe just needs drying out after it's deluge.

Forgot to mention, water getting to tanny may have knocked speed sensor for a loop, so you know at least one area to address.
