06 pt cruiser PCM replacement

Asked by Guru9MCHWT Jan 14, 2023 at 01:46 PM about the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Swapped out a bad PCM for a correctly preprogrammed replacement. Got a
NO CRANK. Then saw a "software update" sticker on the side of the OEM and
realized the new unit would not work. After I put the OEM back, am still getting
NO CRANK, although lights, clock, etc. work. What should I do? Thanks!

Find a good technician or keep researching the problem till you're qualified . That may take time & money

Find an independent shop that has the equipment to flash the replacement to match the VIN and have them do the protocols, then you know it’s done right. Sometimes just swapping parts won’t fix your problems.

It may be that since the original PCM lost power when you replaced it you need to reprogram it again. What made you think it was bad? If this is a security system problem a qualified locksmith or your local Chrysler Product Dealer needs to fix it. Hope that helps! Jim
