Want to change from 2 wheel drive to AWD.  Car came equipped as Front

It ain't happening. You would need a donor car and there will be electrical differences and programming differences between the 2 vehicles. If you need AWD trade it.

Thank you. Our guess is the unit was manufactured at model year end and all the brackets and fuse box are wired. We will check the computer and see what info we can retrieve. Good reply - Thanks

this is an old thread but i am going to set the record straight. I have done two of them. It is not that hard. ideally a door car would be best. You need the transmission, with the AWD unit, the drive shaft and the rear drive differential with axles. Their is nothing different in the electronics. Did a 2005, and a 2006. The AWD in a Chrsler pacifica does not have one electrical connector any place. The transmission is actually the same, but has a awd unit attached to it. The biggest challenge is getting the rear splines clean enough to get the axles in. A small wire brush electrical taped to a sawzal blade is as real help.
