2007 Mini Cooper engine swap

Asked by Mini1202 Mar 06, 2019 at 03:23 PM about the 2007 MINI Cooper S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Mini Cooper S hatchback with a turbo.  It has no compression on one cylinder.  Can I replace the engine with a used engine from a non-turbo 2007 Mini Cooper and use the turbo system?

I would not. Chances are the turbo engine is different internally with HD parts to withstand the boost.

If that’s the case how do people put super charger and turbo on regular engine all the time?
