my 07 mini cooper, I push the fob in and it wouldnt start my car but it unlock the doors and everything but nothing with cranking

Make absolutely certain your battery is charged. It's possible to have enough battery to run these auxiliary systems and not have enough amps to crank. Then, check the starter relay. If it doesn't click when you hit the start button, then it's either loose or bad. If you find that this is not the case and it checks out, you may have a short in the wiring or a bad starter.

Also, I do this all the time, make sure its in Park! can't tell you how many times I left it in drive or neutral lol
