check engine light and loss of acceleration while driving

Asked by 0claudia22 Dec 05, 2021 at 10:30 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Aveo 5 LS Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

first of all, my car is having aa check engine light that keep telling me it is
code p0420. I changed my catalytic twice, as well as   oxygen sensor twice
already. what could be the problem with the check engine light.
approximately two month ago as i was driving my car, the engine or exhaust
pipe started shaking and the car lost acceleration. The gas pedal became
hard and i had to shut the car off and turn it back before it could move at the
normal speed again.

If you already have replaced twice catalytic and twice O2 Sensors (hope you have checked the voltage range and circuit integrity on those two O2 Sensors by OEM specifications before replacing them) then the issue could be at the internal Air/Fuel mixture and firing in Engine or between PCM-O2 sensor(s) electric wiring, connections and ground. Thanks.
