Why is my engine louder and sounds like rpm is higher at idle and park.?

just to get a little bit more infois your check engine light on, does it do it all the time or just in the mornings when you first started. is the RPM needle higher than normal. just from what you said it sounds like you could have a vacuum leak or an Idle air control problem. if you want to make sure its not a vacuum leak check your hoses for any hissing noises and the intake manifold. You can also spray can of brake clean on the vacuum hoses and intake manifold, throttle body gasketto see if the engine might read higher since it is a flammable fluid.it is safe to do that way I have found some vacuum leaks using that method myself.
