Car dies after a few seconds, alternator been replaced

Asked by Ruslan Nov 23, 2022 at 06:28 PM about the 2007 INFINITI G35 x Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I’ve recently got a g35 with a supposedly
alternator problem. I’ve replaced the alternator,
tightened the belt as much as I could with my hand
and slapped everything back together. After that I
jumped the car and after letting it run for a few min,
I disconnect the jumper cables and the lights on the
dash disappear and the car dies after a few
seconds. Any ideas what could be the issue?

hopefully you have a little free play on the belt, after removing cables, it might be a bad battery, have your battery checked at local parts store for free to see if it holds charge? also when you want to start listen for fuel pump, does it make a sound, if so, then you would have to check fuel pressure.
