2007 pontiac grand prix in reduce power engine mode

Asked by agwharton Jul 16, 2018 at 07:24 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2007 Pontiac grand prix goes in and out of reduce power engine mode.  Whenever I take it to the dealership, they get error code U0107 ( ecm lost communication with throttle actuator).  But reduce engine power mode will not repeat for them.  I get it home and two days later same problem.  I bought and OBD device and same code U0107.

2nd mechanic suggest I replace throttle body unit and if that didn't work replace the ECM.

Any thoughts on this?

Clean all relevant electrical connections. Use dielectric grease when plugging connections back together
