BMW x5 hood sensor

Hi I have a 2007 BMW x5 and it keeps telling me that my hood is open but its
not. How can I fix this or disconnect it

It appears that the switch it built into the latch. Apparently it's not unheard of that it fails. https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1144737&highlight=hood+sensor
