i have a 2007 nissan altima and the blower on the heater will kick on after about twenty min of driving what would cause the delay

It's a "smart" system. If you are operating the system in "AUTO" the system senses the engine fluid temperature before it allows the fan to turn on. Once the engine fluid temperature is warm enough, the system will turn the fan on. Otherwise all it will do is blow cold air around.
