Question type: Car Customization

Hi, I have a 2007 mazda 6i and I recently bought
55w hid's because the light from the 35w hid kit
was low. My car uses h1 halogen bulbs default. Will
the 55w hid conversion kit without relay burn my
housing or damage my car in any way?

It is never a good idea to exceed the design capacity of the electrical system. Does going from 35 watt to 55 watt bulbs exceed the design of the circuit? It might. 35 watts at 14.0 volts is 2.5 amps and 55 watts at 14.0 volts is 3.9 amps. While these amp ratings seem quite low the 55 watt units do have a 57% increase in the current drawn. This generates additional heat which may or may not damage something. It is your call as to whether you try this or not.
