Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently my town and country has been shutting off the fuel, but still has electric to the
lighs, signals, horn etc....I have changed the fuel filter which was clogged but this has not
corrected the situation...Any other suggestions before I go to a more expensive solution of
replacing the fuel pump...

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Will it start and run if you keep your foot on the gas pedal? Does it run good on highway but go dead when you slow down to stop?

I never know when it will stop, it has stopped turning a corner, going down hill at 50mph or leaving a light and getting only 500 yards. Sometimes it will keep going if I push on the pedal harder like I am giving it more gas...I have to take it to a mechanic, and would like another alternative for him to check before he hits the big bucks without checking the little things first.

Oh and it does good on the highway so far, going down hill my foot was off the gas at the time,,,and it seems like it always does happen when I am not giving it gas also.

Oh ok. Possibly idle air control valve dirty/faulty or dirty throttle plate.
