Thanks for your suggestion Fordnut; I am afraid to use a universal dipstick because it might puncture the tube. That is why i am looking for an original or remanufacured. Any more ideas? I had already surfed this & other forums, & I haven't found anything other than universal. Are my "puncture" worries unfounded?
Universal is fine as long as it is the right length. And yes, your worries are unnecessary, you won't puncture the tube, the dipstick has no sharp edges and just don't shove it in the tube hard, or try to force it with the heel of you hand. Use two fingers, gently if it 'hangs up' pull it back a bit and re-insert. You will be fine
