Could p700 code be a Solenoid issue?

Asked by llippai Oct 23, 2017 at 01:16 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Solstice Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car feels like its trying go shift gears when breaking.  After testing, It
received a diagnostic code of P700.  The car mechanic stated it needs the
transmission solenoid replaced.  Does this sound correct?   During all my
research for the issue, I have not see this as a possibility. Should I be skeptical
or trust the dealership mechanic who I was referred to by GMC?

1 Answer

That is a generic code. If the shop investigated and found a bad solenoid I would go with the repair.
