I replaced the battery in my 2007 charger and now Im having electrical issues.

Asked by Drew Mar 12, 2019 at 01:36 PM about the 2007 Dodge Charger R/T AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought an 07 charger. I had noticed the
the previous owner had rigged a battery that was
too small for the car into it along with a few other
things of questionable workmanship(mainly a
subwoofer amd some minor cosmetic things). I
replaced the smaller battery for the proper size one
and the car ran fine for a day but this morning it
gave me a battery warning light before the abs
brake light and esb lights came on and that car
sputtered out. Im fairly certian this issue is
electrical in nature but cant be sure. Please help.

Check the battery harness to the alternator is proper, a missing connection can prevent the alternator from working properly. May want to pick up a wire diagram for the car, esp. interior fuse box, and check the wiring there, since previous owner made modifications for amp/subwoofer. No telling where they drew power for that from.

After taking put the sub and its connected parts i found that the negative battery terminal was over tightened and cracked. Managed to sucessfully replace it myself. Thanks for the help
