Replaced the crankshaft position sensor but my car still won't start.

Asked by Juan Dec 03, 2018 at 02:58 AM about the 2007 Chevrolet HHR LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The other day my cel came on, so I took my car to
orielys to have it checked. They had the same code
pop up three times. All were my crankshaft
position sensor went out. So the next day I went to
go start the car and it wouldn't start(Engine revved
but wouldn't fully turn over, also was making a
ticking sound). So I had it towed to midas and the
sensor replaced. But it still won't start. But the
ticking noise stopped when I try to start it now.
What else could be wrong?

Timing chain could have skipped a tooth . Another possibility is broken teeth .Start by ruling out an electrical issue with sensors including ecm . work your way toward taking top off and checking timing .
