Ranger dying

Asked by Binghjs Feb 09, 2018 at 04:14 PM about the 2007 Ford Ranger XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck dies about every mile. I can sit there about
10 min or press and hold fuel reset button in
passenger floorboard and turn the key at same
time and most of the time it will crank. Also has a
strong smell of gas like it's flooded.

So it's a fuel inertia switch that might be bad or it's just doing it's job since there is low pressure at the rail or fuel line somewhere. I would find the fuel leak and address that first though.
